My Personal Thoughts
and a Potted Easter Story
Well for those who love Jesus and have him as their special friend and father, it is one of the most special times of the year.
It was all those many years ago that Jesus and his close friends sat down for a meal, and little did they know that it would be their last. During the meal Roman soldiers came in and it took a guy by the name of Judas to give Jesus a kiss as a sign for them to take him into custody. Once locked away he's bought before the Roman govenor Pilate who put Jesus through a trial and found him not guilty. So to get the people that were around out of his way, he sent Jesus to be tried by the Jewish authorities, who had no problem in convicting him of blasphemy and other things. So taking advice from the public Jesus is sent to be executed on a Roman Gibit, in the shape of a cross. Once back in prison the prison guards make him change into a servants clothes and they put a crown of thorney wood on his head, ramming it on hard so the thorns dig in and make the blood flow. They then beat him and sitting in a circle on the ground they gamble for his clothes, to fulfill what was written in the early part of the bible about these times.

Later on it's off to the place of the skull, a hill outside Jerusalem called Golgotha that the Romans used for all their executions. To get the cross to this hill, Jesus is forced to carry it, draging it for some of the way until a guy by the name Joseph from Aramathea offered to take over for the last part of the journey. All along the route people are cheering to see Jesus heading towards the death hill and his final demise. Once there they laid the cross flat on the ground and laid Jesus on top. Then with large nails they secured him to the cross and slowly raised it into the vertical position, dropping it into a hole in the ground especially made for this sort of execution. So there was Jesus hanging with his whole weight on four nails causing great pain for him. When he cried out the Roman guards bought him a drink, not normal
water or wine, but wine with bitter herbs added to it and gave it to him in a sponge held up on a reed. As a laugh the soldiers put a sign at the top of the cross that read ' The King of the Jews' and so Jesus was left hanging there to die. Along with Jesus there were two thieves put to death in the same way, one just wound Jesus up saying that he could save others but not himself, while the other one realised that Jesus had'nt done anything wrong and asked to be forgiven and saved from going to hell. Jesus realising that this thief was genuine in his remorse said to him that he would be with him in paradise (heaven). So the two thieves died and Jesus talking to his father asked for a last minute reprieve from all this pain. But the soldiers had to break the thieves legs and stabb a sword in their sides to make sure they died, but when they came to Jesus, they heard him cry out to God that into his hands he placed his soul and then drop limp when he died and they didnt bother to do that last grusome thing. During the time Jesus was being killed on the cross his family were in a huddled group right under Jesus cross and they stood in vigil right until he died. During that time the sky went dark, just as if the sun had gone out and part of the Jewish temple interior, a curtain split into two parts and this was to show the people that they could meet with God, not just
the leaders. After Jesus had been dead for a few days the authorities lifted the cross out of its socket and separated his body ready for it to be buried. A local business man, who was sympathetic to Jesus cause gave the grave that had been built for him so Jesus had somewhere to be buried. After the body had been wrapped in grave cloth he was placed in there and a huge stone was rolled in front of it. To make sure the body was not removed, soldiers stood guard until all the fuss had died down.
But soon a group of Jesus friends came to the tomb to embalm the body. They wondered how they were going to open the tomb as none of them were big and strong enough to roll away the stone. But on arrival they need'nt have worried as the sone was not across the door and when they went inside all there was left there was the grave clothes and no body. Two angels who were on guard said to them not to fear for he is risen. After all this they legged it back to where the deciples were they told the rest that he was not in the tomb but had risen just as he said he would. A while later Jesus came to see them in the room where they were and pronounced peace over them and said he would be with them.
As a result they believed, Do You believe Jesus is Alive today, send me your comment today and let us all share in this wonderful fact
God bless you all at this special time.........!
