Black day but White maybe?

SUNDAY 11th JANUARY 2009

Well this picture just about summed up the way the day has been, with the devil attacking and making it a really bad day with the good bit knowing that God is in charge and looks after me whatever is happening. The day started off with me waking up at 0430hrs worrying if my rent had been paid or not and ending up driving out to the bank to check and finding that it had not and not being able to withdraw enough to pay it today. So with that all sorted it was back home and start this blog since it was too late to go back to sleep. This is soon done and it's soon posted for reading and I get ready to go and do what I thought would be only a few hours work for a nice dose of pay. But this soon proves to be otherwise and ended up a full days work. The first job was to stick two inflatables onto trolleys and put them into store ready for collection. When I came to try and pick them up I find I have a lack of energy and have great difficulty moving them. One I manage to get part way toward where it needed to go and the other I never started. The one I got part way decided to suddenly fall off the trolley and so ended up being left where it was once put back on the trolley and covered up until it's collected. Then I had to go shopping for a jockey wheel for a trailer and fit that, but had to go via my bosses home to get some money. But once it's purchased I soon get back to the farm and start getting ready to fit it. But remembering I had to move a van I put the clamp on the back of my car while I do the move and forget where I'd left it and so spent two hours trying to find it, When I manage to find it, it does not take long to fit it and then it was take it for a jet wash at a garage a few miles away. For five pounds it is soon cleaned and waxed and is then on it's way back to the farm. Once parked up its into my car and then on my way back home via my bosses to return a camera and the spare money. When I get home It's get a drink and something to eat and then it's get into bed and update this blog. The only thing was that mid way through the update I manage to hit a wrong key and deleted all I'd written previously. So now I've got back to where I was I can now finish off the entry and call it a day for the day. Good Night and God Bless You

MONDAY 12th JANUARY

The day was an early start, having to go and complete the trailer task I started yesterday, having lost some information on the way home. It was 0530hrs when I got the wake up call and needed to be out of the flat by 0615hrs and off to the farm. On arrival I get the camera going on my phone to record the weight plate on the drawbar and then have to measure the inside off the box. Then its round to my bosses home for 0650hrs with three of us leaving there to go and pick up two others making a team of five off to Harwell to Diamond Light Source Ltd to work on the roofing and cladding on the extention to the donut building. The day started windy but there was a hint of rain in the air and as we traveled along the rain slowly got worse until it was raining continually. On arrival at the site we find the site is under a lake of mud, wherever you went you got covered in mud and it was difficult not to get the tools and materials covered in mud as well. What a day! But soon it comes round to stop for a tea break, although it turns out to be a lunch break due to the time. But soon it's back to the grind and the getting wet. The roofers are soon packing up as they cannot get their glue to stick so they couldnt continue and it was not long before the team on the cladding completed their job and so its end of the day and off home. Once the return trip from Harwell is complete the rest of the evening is for what I call my usual, lay in bed, watch television and update websites and blogs. On getting late it's time to settle down for sleep and listen to a podcast until I fall asleep. Good Night & God Bless You

Tuesday 13th January

Let me start by saying that even though I woke up at 0245hrs and managed to get back to sleep, the day was one hundred percent better than yesterday. The rendesvou was the same time as previously and we were soon speeding off to Diamond Light Source and another days grafting. As is always the case, being a labourer I always do as requested and today I started by strapping up some spacers and then assisting in putting them up.After that I assisted in being the human clamp while brackets were fitted to a metal channel and then in putting a low scafold up so as my boss could get up and secure the channel to the building. After an early lunch break I go and concrete in some crash barrier posts. Unfortunately due to extra large holes there is insuficient concrete bags to complete the job and so only one pair of barriers out of three were done. So by the time I've cleared up it's getting on towards the end of the day and I'm on my way to see how the others are doing. After helping move a cladding panel I start taking the tools back to the car and clean them and put them away. By the time I've done that two of the others have completed what they were doing and are on their way back to the car with the rest of their tools. While they are cleaning the mud off themselves, the other two arrive off the roof and we're soon changing footware and are soon on our way home..Once I've got to my flat I make somthing to eat and am soon in my usual place for a full evening of television entertainment, in bed........... So I'll leave you with my usual comment of the day and here it is with all my love. Good Night & God Bless You

Wednesday 14th January

Yes a good day that started at the usual time of 0530hrs leaving home at 0635hrs arriving at the bosses home for 0650hrs and leave from there to pick up two others again and I have to take the company van to go and get some materials for the job. So at 0730hrs I arrive at Travis Perkins in Eastleigh to purchase some concrete mix to complete my job at Diamond Light Source Ltd and then proceed to site. Getting from Eastleigh to the A34 is fun and games but I eventually get to where I need to be and soon get to the site, driving through fog and mist and patches of sun ending up arriving in the frost. Once set up it does not take long to mix the concrete and fill the holes, taking half a day to do each pair of the remaining barrier sets. The rest of the time is spent assisting putting some cladding up and fitting brackets for the next stage of the job,Soon we have completed the job for the day and we're soon packed up and heading for home. Having had a rapid trip home I'm soon packed up in my usual place having sorted out something to eat and then to my usual past time of TV watching until it's time to make a phone call for a chat with a young family member and then on to writing this update. Good Night & God Bless You

Thursday 15th January

After the normal start to the day I have the task to put tarmac onto the concrete post collars that I completed yesterday afternoon. It was thought it was going to be a challenge as the tarmac needed to be warmed up to get it flexible for laying. This turned out not to be the case as, having stored the bags inside they were nice and warm and the tarmac was suitably layed and covered up the concrete easily. By the time this work was completed it was lunch time and after the break I head up to the roof to assist the team up there. The roof team were applying butile film to the building and I was needed to seal up the joints with a black mastic type glue and then smooth out the joint with a spatular. This takes a while to do but I soon catch up with the film layers and I end te day clearing things and materials off the roof and taking them back to the car. By the time the roof is clear the tools used by the wall team are ready to go to the car and once these are loaded into the car the others are back getting ready to return home. At aprox 1715hrs we set off home and are soon dropping two of my colleagues off home and then proceeding to the bosses home and finally getting home at 1815hrs. Once in doors and sorted something to eat I proceed to my usual place to eat my sandwich and then settle down for my usual evenings activity. So wi th the picture of the muddy site we were working on I complete my days report, so Good Night & God Bless You All

Friday 16th January

I'm now on my way home from work at 1616hrs and what a day it's been. It started off nice and easy, assisting putting cladding into place that was not too strenuous and it took until early lunch at 1100hrs to complete two panels. When we came back after lunch I was asked to assist on the roof in putting tarpaulins into position to cover up a major water leak that would have damaged equipment and flooring inside the building. But this proved to be a major headache as the hoist we went to use decided to run out of diesel and also hydrolic oil so it did not do all it was meant to, so restricting what height it could go to. Eventually having secured the two tarpaulins together we manage to get them over the leak and we are then able to clear up and off home, almost having a P.O.E.T.S day(Piss Off Early Tomorrow's Saturday). What am I going to do on getting home, let me say it's the same thing as always F.B.T (food, bed, television) So I have to try and get things done on Saturday, if I'm lucky! So as always Good Night and God Bless You All

Saturday 17th January

What can one say about Saturday, a day spent in bed watching television and doing everything except writing this entry up. A great amount of washing was completed and dried with bits still left to be completed and put away on Sunday. It will make a great difference to the state of my flat if I get all the clean washing put away. The rest of the day was spent on the PC trying to get things checked out and not suceeding and seeing the omnibus editions of my favourite soaps. After that the set is on in the background but trying to get things done online proves fun and games for the evening. Anyway this is going to be a very short entry so Good Night God Bless You All
