Second Week, will it last .......

Sunday 18th January

What a great day, two sessions at church and the chance to share with friends about my financial strife, even down to it being mentioned in a roundabout way at the start of the message minus my name, unusual but good all the same. The rest of the day was pretty easy going, getting the two loads of washing done and dried and relaxing watching TV. Then it's time to go out to church for the evening meeting. After getting a repeat sermon and being mentioned by name on the second time round, I agree to being prayed for after taking communion. With this behind me I just continue to trust God for the future provision, as always he takes care of all my needs and this is how I have got on in the past. Anyway Good Night & God Bless You!

Monday 19th January

The day started as usual with the trip to the bosses home in Fair Oak ready for the trip to the current work site via Upham to Diamond Light Source Ltd. There was no delay in the trip although there was a warning on the radio that there was an accident at the junction we were to travel through. So not getting the delays we expected we're soon arriving at site and stopping for a cup of tea before starting off on the days work. Once again I'm working on the roof putting ledges and securing brackets on the framework of the building with one of the others but have continuous problems securing brackets as the fasteners keep breaking before they are doing their job correctly. Eventually after lunch the problem bracket is secured and due to the time factor there was little more we could do and were soon cleared up and off the roof. Once the others have finished their panel we call it a day and are soon on our way home. This is the usual one hour trip and we're soon arriving back at the bosses home and the end of the day once again. I'm soon on my way home and get there very quickly and soon am getting some dinner ready and some TV watching in for the evening. So in bed I'm soon called out to attend to a defective generator on the Big Red Bus that was out on the Harefield Estate round the corner from me. I'm soon on site but fail to find the fault as I dont have the right tools to cure what I think is the problem. Anyway the team decide to carry on for the last fifteen minutes and so I depart a failure of the day. Once back I find I've missed my early dose of Eastenders but resign myself to the edition at 2200hrs on chanel three. So at 2230hrs it's settle down for the night so as usual it's Good Night & God Bless You.

Tuesday 20th January

What a good day, it started as usual, a trip to Diamond Light Source and a profitable day of work.putting cladding panels onto the walls of the do-nut and cutting panels with if possible straight lines, (as easy said as done for me) But my straight cutting was due to be covered up and would not be seen so was not that critical. On the whole the day went very quickly and after lunch just flew by. By the time we had finished we cleared up the tools and then proceeded to move our scissor lift that we were using to its new resting place ready for use tomorrow. Firstly we had to get it dragged out from its former resting place as it kept bottoming out and needed help. It was soon out on the road moving to a different part of the site for its next period of use. The only problem we had was the place it had to go was across a big dip and up a slope to get to where it was needed. When my colleague got a bridge across the dip built we thought we were going to make it across until the back wheels got onto the start of the bridge and the bridge collapsed and it is now stuck in the dip when the bridge gave out and broke. So by the time this happened it was time to put the tools in the car and depart for home, that didnt take long and as I'm typing this report I'm traveling down the A34 towards home via Fair Oak and a garage to put diesel in the car. Tonight I'll be doing my usual Tuesday night marathon on TV consisting of the following programs:- Simpsons, Home and Away, Neibours, East Enders, Holby City and then whatever takes my fancy. So since I'm at the bottom of the A34 at 1715hrs I'm now posting todays writing so Good Night & God Bless You.

Wednesday 21st January

Just three of us at Diamond today and we got quite a bit done. It was an early start as usual but by the end of the day we got a number of panels on the building and was able to remove one of the two tarpaulins that originally covered the gap in the building and stopped the rain getting into the building. To be able to do that we had to get assistance getting the scissor lift out of it's overnight resting place in the hole and then it was all systems go. There were still problems getting the panels to fit together correctly but in the end it was job completed correctly. After lunch, we had a short time to complete as far as we could and then it was an early mark, as the boss had an appointment at 1600hrs and had to get us all back so as to get there in time. So I'm off home and take time to get something to eat organised. Anyway Its time to sort out finance in time for the end of the month and I hope I have enough to cover my expenses as well as the extra. Only God will supply my needs so thats who I trust. Anyway it's TV after that and then bed so must get on, so Good Night & God Bless You.

Thursday 22nd January
All back on the job today so mucH work should be done. The bit we were doing became a pain though, the two small panels we put in during the afternoon yesterday had to be taken out and refitted as the rubber gaskets did not line up between what we had done and the new building panels. To get this right we had to remove the panels three times in all before the gaskets lined up removing different packing pieces as we went. As well as having this problem it all happened in the pouring rain and so we ended up quite soggy as well. Lunch came and went and then we were into the last three hours. With my boss and my workmate going up towards the roof to complete the paneling high up and fabricate a panel, I'm left at ground level and have to send tools up to the scissor lift on a rope. As you can see to the left it was all going on at the roof level and you can see everyone but me were up high level and by the end of the day all the gaps were filled up the side. Soon it's the days end and we were packing up and trying to get everything into the car. This is always getting a litre into a half litre pot and fills the back completely. Soon we're on the road and soon get back without any delays. When I get back to home, as yesterday I do myself dinner, watch the usual TV and then have an earlier night than yesterday. Good Night and God Bless You.............

Friday 23rd January

Another different day for me, a day of cleaning EcoConcrete blocks and loading them into the van for laying at my bosses home. The blocks were second hand and were full of earth and grass and needed a great amount of effort to get the earth cleaned out of them. With a quantity of them needed it took the whole day to clean and load them and that only did 107 panels which made a total of 134 when put with the ones we rescued the day before. While I was doing this the others were finishing off the cladding on the roof ready to put the capping panels next week and completeing the corner panels. Having started working in the pouring rain it soon stopped and turned into a nice day with pleanty of sun. At days end it was on the road home and it took well over our normal hour to get back due to major tailbacks into a new set of roadworks which caused a tailback for miles so the trip home was two and a half hours instead of one, and was I glad to get here to home. So food time and TV time is at hand and then sleep. Tomorrow I have to work but that is only local and should be reasonably easy to do, so Good Night & God Bless You

Saturday 24th January
It's meant to be a day of rest or some, but today I was offered a days paid work which, in my current state of financial negetivity I could not turn down. So my day turned out to be filled with laying the EcoConcrete blocks that I'd cleaned and loaded yesterday. The first thing I had to do was lift some blocks that had been down before, then move the stones that were in and around the blocks, relay the replacement blocks and then fill them with the stones. The idea of these blocks are that they will support a motor vehicles but you can fill them with soil and grass or, as in this case stones. It was quite an effort to get the blocks laid flat as the stones got in the way but it took a whole eight hours plus to complete which was just about when the daylight finally stopped play. once I got home it was F.B & TV (food, bed & television) and then sleeeeeeeeeep so as usual Good Night & God Bless You
