Why Do?

Whenever I get near a PC, I fail to find time to write about me and how I feel, how well I am, or not and why I'm so blessed to be part of a wonderful family, both close, wider afield and all over the world.
Well I've now got twenty minutes to try and impart at least part of this mine of information and hope to complete the rest of it later in the week.

ME....... Today I've had a nice day that almost ended in disaster, when returning from a youth event on the other side of Southampton city with a bus, set up as a mobile youth centre I was almost involved in a crash at a set of traffic lights. While driving along with a green signal in front of me a car almost turned into the side of the bus. Fortunately God was with me and the car stopped about two feet from the buses side, but it could have been worse. Tomorrow wont be too good as in the evening I was meant to be going to see a band, Machine Head in concert at the O2 Acaddemy in Brixton, but due to not being able to get home in time for work on Friday, I have had to waste a £35.00 ticket due to management inflexibility. Fortunately I think a member of the wider family is going in my place, so I hope, by the time he reads this, he will have enjoyed it.

WORKWISE.......... The work keeps me rolling along, sometimes lots of it, other times nothing, but at the moment I have a nice steady flow of it. This gives me a nice cash flow to cover the current expencies and those for the start of March. Its been a not a very nice situation having to work at height, on a roof in the freezing cold wind and sleet, with your fingers dying every few minutes and then taking a while to thaw out before continuing. But that's the nature of the beast when working somewhere with it's own micro climate and just think of me when you're busy in your classroom or office all snug as a bug in a rug.........
At the moment work with Miracle Street is not happening as it's out of season for us although a situation arose two weeks back when the Mainstage and Unit went in for their MOT. As the rig was going through the test shed some of the brakes on the trailer siezed on and the rig was stuck unable to move. Subsequently this failed both parts of the rig and so the cost started mounting up. Having dragged the trailer out of the test shed its parked up and recovery is organised. But things only get worse, the recovery rig comes out to get the trailer back and on route it breaks down and has to be recovered off the side of the M27. Eventually the trailer gets recovered and is parked up in the recovery companys yard just down the road from the farm where it needs to be. Once the tractor unit is back up and running (having cost £5,000 to repair) we have to go and collect the trailer, having managed to release the breaks, but going out of the yard the trailer bottoms out and recieves a medium sized dent to the underside and damages the underslung lockers and catches. So with all the rig back on the farm we have to try and organise getting the repairs completed, a job that is still waiting due to me not having time due to working more regular hours for a while. We just thank God that all these problems occured in our closed season so we've not had to cancel any events and that God has provided the funds to get the repairs completed. So with only the trailer to complete, Miracle Street is ready for the new season and the new challenges that brings to the organisation
As of next Tuesday 6th April I have pleanty of work that will run for the next six to eight weeks with Jireh Construction, the roofing and cladding company, re-roofing part of the hanger complex at Farnborough Airport, subject to weather conditions. This will be the biggest project I've ever been involved in and should be good fun. The panels to be replaced look like those shown on the picture opposite and the picture shows also the view we can see from the hanger roof. So life goes on and thank God for the supply of our needs whenever we trust him to do that. Since I've moved out of Essex my life has been a time of trusting God for so much it would be a mind blowing for anyone to read straight off. But one day I might do it when there's time and space to spare. So I might as well stop waffeling and give you a chance to read and digest it's contents so enjoy the read.......
